About

Gally Maxwell (a pseudonym) is the designer (!) of this homely and homemade website, and is author of its contents. Blog posts will often be reproduced in relevant pages for ease of reference. For example, a flash fiction story will be posted but also show on the Flash Fiction page.

Gally is a lifelong obsessive reader and consumer of film and other art. He has always written stories, even novels, and was encouraged to continue in his youth (when dinosaurs roamed…), but, sadly, the practice of law was and is much more lucrative.

Now not working because of poor health, he wants to share the beauty of what he has absorbed and continues to absorb.

A Scot by birth, one grandfather was Irish, from Kells in County Meath; the other a staunch Gallovidian. After ten years in Scotland, Gally was forcibly exiled to the wastes of England. But he came to love Manchester, a truly United city.

An investigating lawyer for twenty-four years, he specialised in complex fraud. His exile is now in rural Warwickshire, quite handy for Stratford-upon-Avon. He has been with his wife for forty years. He can be contacted at gally.maxwell@btinternet.com

Copying or redistribution of any content in this website in any form is prohibited, except that:
1. you are welcome to print or download extracts (but not the whole website) to a local hard disk for your personal and non-commercial use only
2. you may copy the content to individual third parties for their personal and non-commercial use, but on condition that you acknowledge the website as the source of the material.

All content on this site is educational only and no advice is given. Frauds in particular are often complex and require detailed and time-consuming analysis of documents and a full statement from the victim. The same is true of assessing an investment: the documents have to be fully analysed and any other circumstances (such as emails or messages or conversations) taken into account. A professional must be consulted and fully briefed to provide any advice required. Gally Maxwell is not a practising or registered lawyer.

I often comment on products on this site – from books to Celtic crosses – but be assured that I have no commercial relationship with any supplier: not just no relationship with those I mention, but no relationship with any supplier at all. Yes, none. No commissions. No freebies. No contact, in fact. Nor, in case a supplier has a random thought, do I want any of those things. Independence!
